Potassium Feldspar

Potash Feldspar mineral, scientifically known as Potassium Alumina Silicate (KAlSi3O8). It is also known as orthoclase feldspar. It is mostly pink, light pink, white and pinkish-brown in color. It is shipped in different granulometries in grains or micronised according to the customer’s needs.

It has good fluxing properties. It is obtained from a differential flotation process that guarantees its stability. It may melt at high temperatures compared to Sodium Feldspar but after firing it results in a stronger ceramic body, with high K2O contents (11+%) imparts a translucent glaze. Potassium feldspar is a key raw material in the glass and ceramics industry as a fluxing and stabilizing agent.

Potassium feldspar is used as a raw material in the glass industry, as extenders and fillers in the paint industry, and as a coating for welding rods and abrasives.
