Dolomite

It is a calcium magnesium carbonate mineral with a chemical composition of CaMg(CO3)2. Its specific weight is 2.8 g/cm³ and its hardness is between 3.5-4 on the Mohs scale.

The rocks formed by dolomite minerals are also called Dolostones. It is known that the formation of these rocks is not a direct chemical precipitation of dolomites, but limestones under the influence of magnesium-rich waters. Dolomite is used in a very wide area such as glass, ceramics, paint, heat-insulation, construction chemicals, soil improvement in agriculture, especially in the iron and steel industry.

Dolomite increases the strength in the area it is used because it is a harder mineral than calcite, but it also eliminates the risk of cracking, especially in the construction chemicals and paint industries, as it has lower water absorption.
